🗺️ Beyond Leonida: Gloriana, the Daiquiri Republic & GTA 6's wider world
GTA 6's fiction references places outside its Florida — a neighboring state and a Caribbean nation among them. What's confirmed to exist vs. visitable.
The map has edges — the fiction doesn’t
GTA has always built worlds bigger than their playable borders: Liberty City news talked about San Andreas, license plates named states you’d never visit. GTA 6 does the same, and because our database indexes every named place in official material, we can say exactly which offstage places are on record:
- State of Gloriana — Leonida’s confirmed neighboring state; the Deep-South next-door in the fiction.
- Daiquiri Republic — a referenced Caribbean nation, the world’s Cuba-adjacent island state; a natural thread for Little Cuba’s diaspora culture and Vice City’s smuggling-history DNA.
- Real-fiction geography glue — the Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean frame the state exactly as they frame Florida (why Leonida = Florida).
Referenced ≠ visitable
Let’s be precise about what these entries are: names on record in official material — not destinations. Confirmed playable space is the State of Leonida’s six regions, period. No official material shows travel to Gloriana, the Daiquiri Republic, or anywhere else. If a boat, plane, or story beat crosses a border in November, that’ll be launch news, not something to assert today.
Why bother tracking them? (labeled analysis)
Two reasons. World-building references are Rockstar’s favorite chekhov’s-gun inventory — Cayo Perico was Online-DLC groundwork laid years earlier, and a named Caribbean state is exactly the kind of thread the eventual online mode could pull. And practically: these names are where fake “map leak” content loves to live. When a viral map shows Gloriana as playable, you now know the verified status: it’s a reference, and anything more is invention. (Sorting real leaks from fabrication has its own guide.)

Frequently asked questions
Can you leave Leonida in GTA 6?
Not confirmed. Playable space on record is the State of Leonida's six regions. Other places are referenced in the fiction — signage, lore, names — but referenced is not the same as visitable, and Rockstar has shown no travel beyond the state.
What is Gloriana in GTA 6?
The State of Gloriana is a neighboring state referenced in official material — Leonida's version of having a Georgia/Deep South next door. It exists in the fiction; nothing indicates you can go there.
What is the Daiquiri Republic?
A Caribbean nation referenced in GTA 6's world — the fiction's Cuba-adjacent island state, fitting Vice City's Latin-Caribbean identity. Again: named in the world, not shown as a destination.
Could DLC add places outside Leonida?
Pure speculation. GTA 5 never expanded its map in 12 years; RDR2 shipped extra space used by story only. History argues Leonida IS the game, and the references are world-building.
