Real-world inspiration analysis
Tequesta appears to be based on the Brickell neighborhood of Miami, Florida. The neighborhood's name is derived from the Native American Tequesta tribe, which once inhabited the southeastern coast of Florida, particularly near Biscayne Bay, adjacent to Brickell. Several structures in the Brickell area reference the Tequesta, including a bronze statue of a Tequesta Indian on the Brickell Avenue Bridge and the Tequesta Point high-rise complex on Brickell Key.
