Sony announces cheaper Midnight Black PS5 to launch alongside GTA 6, it's just a shame we won't be able to buy it - Game

Sony has announced a new, more affordable Midnight Black PS5 variant set to launch alongside GTA 6. The console will be available only as part of a pre-order bundle for the game, which is scheduled for release on Nov 19, 2026. The bundle includes the PS5, a limited-edition GTA 6 game disc, and exclusive in-game content. While the Midnight Black PS5 is positioned as a budget-friendly option, it will not be sold separately, making it inaccessible to consumers outside the GTA 6 pre-order pool. This move aligns Sony with Rockstar Games’ marketing strategy, ensuring the console’s availability is tied directly to the game’s launch. For players anticipating GTA 6, the bundle offers a cost-effective way to secure both the game and hardware, though it underscores the limited flexibility of purchasing the console independently.
